This multi-functional Wah-Wah pedal offers everything you need for virtually all styles and sounds. Different from most pedals the Hellbabe uses complete optical control for wear-and-tear-free pedal operation (no mechanical pots and switches) plus it features a unique spring-back pedal mechanism with resistance adjustment for the ultimate freedom in playing styles. The heel-down frequency range is freely adjustable using Range control (440 Hz to 250 Hz), so you can use it even with bass guitars. An additional Fine Tune control allows high-end extension of sweep range for achieving incredibly bright, ultra-present tone. The musical Q control is provided for precise filter shaping and achieving vocal-like effects. The tunable boost function includes an On/Off switch that lets you push your licks up to the limit. Included are dual LED indicators for Effect On/Off and Boost On/Off at the tail of the pedal. Only ultra-low noise circuitry is used throughout for outstanding audio performance. Run your HB01 on a 9 V battery or a DC power supply (not included).

CUSTOMER REVIEWS:
It seems OK, especially for the price. -

I ordered the HB01 Hellbabe Wah-Wah pedal made by Behringer from 8th St. Music and I have some good comments. First of all the pedal only took one business day to ship UPS from PA to NJ. So we were off to a good start.
I had an appointment I had to go to in the morning and I went to the library during the day in my township so I didn't get a chance to tinker around with the device until about 7:00 PM at night. I was in for a treat.
I hooked up the pedal and put it first in my effects chain consisting of the Behringer Hellbabe Wah, a compression sustainer by Boss, an echo analog delay pedal, a flanger, and a stereo chorus all of the latter of which were by Johnson. See my other reviews on Amazon. Note that my review of the compression unit discussed the noise level. So, I do make critical comments when I think a device isn't perfect.
I started to play and used the pedal and it brought back some memories from when I used to play a lot of hard rock and heavy metal before my depression and I stopped playing when it kicked in some years ago. I started to feel better too. I cooked up some good licks and rhythm grooves, improvised on the spot and I got off on them.
These days, I am more of an Eric Clapton dude than a Hendrix guy. People even complain how EC slowed down since his early recordings like Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire. In my old age, I have slowed down and even Eddie Van Halen has made it known that he can't jump up and down like he used to years ago. He says his knees can't take it. You also have to remember that EVH made it big when he was just 17 and so did Yngwie Malmsteen. So, they have been jumping around for a looong time!
I thought that the Wah pedal isn't half bad for the money - about half to 1/3 of other brands - and I had the Cry Baby pedal years ago. In fact, I had two Wah-Wah pedals and they both had different frequency ranges. The Behringer seems to encompass the ranges of all of my units. And since it works based on an optical sensor not a pot, it is noiseless.
I am going to have to noodle around to see what range of sonic tones I can come up with using the pedal. I am still in uncharted waters. I haven't tapped into the pedal's full range of sounds.
One guy gave this unit a rating of 4 and the second a rating of 1. I think more about 4.5 because as far as I can tell, this unit is more complicated to use than the old Cry Baby Wah pedal. You have to use some brainpower to bring it to life.
I have been looking into Behringer's phase shifting units. They make 2 different analog units. And I know the units cost about $30 and have 12 stages of shifting. That is what my old Boss Shifter had some years ago. Boss effects go for about $100 so my budget needs take over here.
All in all, I don't have the money to buy really expensive stuff or pricey brands like Electro Harmonix but I feel that as a guitar hobbyist, the gear I have obtained for not too much money suffices.
I have a thing for electronic gadgets and I noted this in another review. I am a former computer programmer/analyst and I worked for a number of Fortune 500 companies. I have extensive experience working on automating high tech systems relative to economics, statistics, operations research, finance and marketing. So all of this sort of comes naturally to me. As long as I have some money, I will invest in some gear and relay the information to the rest of you.

Good Pedal for the Small Price Tag- -

This item arrived in a timely fashion for me. Two days was a very short wait considering it came across the country.
Now for the pedal.
As my first wah pedal, I found this pedal could produce a variety of sounds (though I couldn't quite get the sound of Rage Against the Machine's Bulls on Parade), and it also sounds really good with a chorus on a clean channel.
It is also on the cheaper side.
10X Better Than Dunlop Original Wah! -

Sometimes you get more than what you paid for. This is one of those times. I choose the Hellbabe HB0l for it features and mainly for the price. I was very surprised at the range of Wah sounds produced by this pedal. you can shape the Wah sound to what ever sound your after nice Sweep. I also have The Original Dunlop Crybaby, Let me tell you this was 2x more expensive and it sucks. It sucks your tone out of your guitar, It is so noisy. By comparison the Hellbabe is a better investment.
Cheap always turns expensive... -

so buy expensive NOW! This is cheap and nothin' can change it!
